Enjoy invigorating hikes in the surrounding mountains, swim in the river or play in the rock pools, go fly-fishing, walking, bird watching, mountain biking, savour the scenery on our many 4 X 4 trails, enjoy a leisurely picnic beneath the willows down by the river, or you can simply put your feet up, relax and enjoy the splendour which the Southern Drakensberg has to offerWe also are a fully functional active farm where guests and especially children are invited to acquaint themselves with a variety of farm animals. Wild rainbow trout swimming side by side with elusive Yellow fish abound in the Bell River, making it a fly-fisherman’s paradise. Kinmel has its own stretch of the Bell River, specifically reserved for our guests only. We are one of the closest lodges to Tiffendel on the Rhodes approach. We are perfectly situated to stay over on your way to Tiffendell or back, or you can use it as an ideal base to do day trips to Tiffendell. We offer a variety of guided tours on private trails as well as public routes and some can be done as self drive routes. SNOW SKIING Winter time is snow time in Rhodes. During June, July and even August our mountains are covered in a snow blanket, with regular snow falls being experienced in the valley on the farm and surrounding areas. FLY FISHING Wild rainbow trout abound in the Bell River, making it a fly fisherman’s paradise. We have our own stretch of river which we make available to our guests. In addition the region boasts more than 200 km of rivers and crystal clear running water in which to cast your fly. Permits to fish these waters can be arranged. • During December to February this area boasts a wide variety of alpine flowers. View on your own or with a trained guide. • San rock art can be viewed by prior arrangement. • Naude’s Nek Pass is the highest mountain pass in South Africa and is a must for all visitors. • Horse riding, tennis and other activities can be arranged in the close proximity. • Bird watching. • Hiking and back packing. • Mountain biking. • Quad biking. • Star gazing. • Picnicing and / or swimming in the river and rock pools or in the kloof.

We provide peace, tranquility and a relaxing atmosphere in which to host a very successful conference.On-site we can cater for small conferences up to about 25 in our in-house conference room or about 50 / 55 can be hosted on our large spacious (enclosed) verandah, with magnificent views of the Drakensberg. We have available white boards (flip charts), a DVD player, large TV screen, overhead projector and laptop. We can also get other equipment should you require same.

In Barkley East take the R396 a gravel road to the town of Rhodes. Upon arrival in Rhodes drive straight through on the Maclear Naudes nek road for 1.5 km where you will find Kinmel Farm on your right hand side.
